On our quest to explore the Kentucky Bourbon Trail we paid a visit to Angel’s Envy Distillery. Located right in the heart of downtown Louisville, Angel’s Envy is a must see if you’re spending time touring and tasting your way through the Bourbon Trail.
The first thing you notice when you arrive at Angel’s Envy is how stunning the building is. The distillery is located in a restored, historic building and the attention to detail is remarkable.
Some areas of the distillery are not air conditioned so they provide you with complimentary water during your tour.
The tour takes you through the production of Angel’s Envy, giving your the history of the company and some interesting facts. You get to see the bottling area and barrels used to make Angel’s Envy Bourbon.
Angel’s Envy offers a Bottle Your Own Bourbon experience, which we didn’t participate in, but heard from our tour guide is a really cool option for when you’re visiting.
Once the tour is over, it’s time for your bourbon tasting. Angel’s Envy has a stunning tasting room where you get to sample their bourbon.
In addition to the bourbon you get to try, they also gave us a chocolate from Art Eatables, a local bourbon chocolatier.
After your tour and tasting are over, you’re free to visit the Angel’s Envy bar. This was one of the best distillery bars we visited during our time in Louisville. They have a constantly updated drink menu with lost of fun choices for a morning or afternoon cocktail.
