The Field Museum Chicago

February 4, 2018

Our family was provided complimentary tickets to The Field Museum in exchange for review. All opinions are my own. This post may contain affiliate links.

If you’re visiting Chicago with kids, The Field Museum should be top on your must visit list. Having visited 10 years ago, when Cole was just a baby, we still talk about what a fun museum it is.

The Field Museum is huge so don’t be surprised if you spend the entire day there. My recommendation is to be there when it opens. The museum is a hot spot for field trips and by 10:30am it was crawling with kids. The good news is that they cleared out by 1:30. When we arrived at 9am the museum was empty. We were able to take a selfie with Sue without anyone else around.

We wandered through the exhibits and scarcely saw another person. The kids loved looking at all the different plants and animals.

Our kids’ favorite spot in the museum is the Crown Family PlayLab located on the bottom floor of the museum. It’s filled with loads of hands on activities, a sound lab, microscopes, dress up clothes, puzzles, games and more.

The Field Museum is included with a CityPASS Chicago booklet or you can get your tickets online and at the door. They have several different levels of tickets depending on if you want access to some of the special exhibits. We loved our time at The Field Museum, hopefully it won’t be another 10 years before we get back there.
