In addition to panning for gold we also got to mine for gems. Basically they give you a big bucket of dirt and you get to dig through it using the wash boxes looking for gems and stones. This was by far Cole’s favorite part of our visit.

This year we headed up to the mountains after Cole got out of school. We decided to rent a cabin at a park in Georgia that we had visited many times before, just never with the kids. The weather was beautiful and we had so much fun exploring the area.
