Top on the kids’ bucket list when visiting Chicago was to make a stop at Dylan’s Candy Bar. There are several Dylan’s locations in the US, and luckily for us their flagship store in downtown Chicago was right around the corner from our hotel.
Dylan’s Candy Bar is what every child dreams of when you think ‘candy store’. Being from Jacksonville, we’re hard to impress since Sweet Pete’s is right in our hometown. But let me tell you, Dylan’s was still shockingly sweet!
In addition to prepackaged candy you can purchase, you can also scoop out some by-the-pound-selections and they have fresh made fudge and other bakery items available for purchase.
Dylan’s Candy Bar also has lots of options for personalized candy and candy containers. Cole was excited to find his name on one of the mini candy bars. If you’re going to visit Dylan’s Candy Bar, sign up for their rewards program about a week before your trip, you’ll get a coupon you can take with you and use on your visit.
While we were there we did eat in the Dylan’s Candy Bar Cafe and I’m going to be honest and tell you, it wasn’t my favorite. The food was subpar and very overpriced. The cafe itself felt cramped and dirty. If you’re looking to eat at a cafe that specializes in sweets, I recommend eating at Sugar Factory. I’ll be writing a review about our visit to that shop and cafe soon.
