Our family was provided complimentary tickets to Shedd Aquarium in exchange for review. All opinions are my own. This post may contain affiliate links.
Since our home town doesn’t have an aquarium, we always try to visit them in the cities we explore. We were excited to spend the day at Shedd Aquarium, where there’s so much sea life to learn about and enjoy.
There’s so much to do at Shedd, it’s almost overwhelming when you first walk in. We worked our way around the main floor and then picked up our free tickets for the Land & Sea show. There’s no charge to attend the show, but you must get tickets ahead of time at the kiosk.
Our whole family loved the show. It was entertaining, but it was also very informative. We learned lots of fun facts about all the animals.
After the show we headed downstairs where there was a touch tank the kids loved and a play area where they could blow off some steam.
In addition to all the amazing sea life we encountered, we also loved the Washed Ashore: Art to Save the Sea exhibit that is at Shedd. The exhibit includes oversized sculptures of aquatic animals made entirely from trash found in the ocean.
Shedd Aquarium is included with a CityPASS Chicago booklet or you can get your tickets online and at the door. In addition to a standard ticket, Shedd offers several different animal encounter experiences you can pay extra for.
