After our morning of canoeing we ventured over to the Ballard Locks & Fish Ladder. They have beautiful botanical gardens that surround the Locks and we had a wonderful picnic lunch. We got to see several boats, large and small, pass through the Locks. Then we went across one of the bridges and saw the salmon jumping up the fish ladder. We even saw a Harbor Seal swimming in the water right below us. Interesting fact that we didn’t realize until we left Seattle, but that large, iron bridge in the background of the first picture is what we went over on our train when we headed out of town.
